Cal Lutheran Pushes Past Baseball

Thousand Oaks, Calif. (3/4/17) – The Kean University baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision to California Lutheran University on Saturday in non-conference action.

The Kingsmen (6-4) used a four run fourth to take a lead they would not relinquish.  In the third frame Cal Lutheran used three singles and a Cougar miscue for the 4-0 lead.

CLU added another single run in the fifth with a sac fly from Brad Fullerton, scoring Jimmy Jauregui who reached on a leadoff double.

The Cougars erased the shutout in their final at-bat as pinch-hitter Steve Santigate lined a two out, two RBI double off the top of the wall in left field.

Offensively Brock Podgurski (pictured left) was 2-for-4.

Kean returns to action on Sunday when they face the University of La Verne at 1 p.m. local time.
