Kean Football Places Three in NFF Hampshire Honor Society
DALLAS (5/2/12) – For the fourth straight year, the Kean University football had a
player named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society by the NFF and College Hall of Fame, as seniors Stephon Cooper, Justin Shaw and Dave Galante were recognized as part of the 2012 class.
A total of 721 players from 232 school maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better through their college career. The 2012 class marks the largest class since the program's inception in 2007.
Galante was also named to the 2011 CoSIDA/Capital One NCAA Division III District 2 Academic All-Region team this past year, while Cooper and Galante are both members of Chi Alpha Sigma, the College Student-Athlete Honor Society.
The three have also regularly been honored on Kean's National Student-Athlete Day.
This past fall, the Cougars captured the New Jersey Athletic Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history.
