Entering his second season at Kean, Joe O’Connor assumes control of the offense as the offensive coordinator after serving as the wide receivers coach last season. 

O’Connor, who brings more than 15 years of coaching experience to the Kean sidelines, most recently came from Middletown South High School, where he served as the offensive coordinator for the four seasons.  Prior to that, he was the head coach at Holmdel High School from 2000-05, after serving as the offensive coordinator for two years from 1998-99. 

A four-year letterwinner at Montclair State University, O’Connor began his coaching career at Kearny High School in 1995, where he served as the defensive coordinator for three seasons. 

A physical education teacher at Holmdel High School since 1998, O’Connor earned his undergraduate degree from Montclair State University and a master’s degree from Marygrove College (Mich.).  He also earned his supervisor’s certification from Kean. 

O’Connor resides with his wife Jeanne and their two daughters, Riley and Shea.
