Field Hockey Powers Past Ramapo

Union, N.J. (10/3/17) - The Kean University field hockey team dominated Ramapo College in a 4-0 NJAC victory on Tuesday night.

The #15 Cougars controlled the possession for most of the first half, tallying up 23 corners and 21 shots, but were unable to put a score on the board because of great keeper work by Roadrunner's Emily Wisneski

At the start of the second half, the Cougars were determined for a goal.  After just three minutes of play Krista LaMaina scored her 12th goal of the year for a 1-0 lead.  Just a minute later, sister Shauna LaMaina added to the lead with a goal of her own off a corner play that worked perfectly to make the score 2-0.

Later in the half K. LaMaina added to her season goal count by sending her 13th goal to the back of the cage off a pass from Lia DiPiazza.  Before time expired in the game, Jenna Patrone fired a liner from the right side of the crease to make the final 4-0 on the night.

The Cougars improve to 12-0 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC with the victory and return to action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to SUNY New Paltz.
