Two Collect Major Awards as Field Hockey Earns Four All-ECAC Selections

DANBURY, Conn. (11/30/17)- Senior Teresa Carr has been named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year and Head Coach Leslie LaFronz has been tabbed the ECAC Coach of the Year as the Kean University Field Hockey team earned four All-ECAC selections. Carr was selected to the All-ECAC first team with senior Krista LaMaina, sophomore Jenna Patrone and senior Shauna LaMaina.

Carr has been tabbed the Offensive Player of the Year and a first team selection after tallying 47 points on 20 goals and seven assists. The Jackson, N.J. native was named the NJAC Midfielder of the Year, an All-NJAC first team selection and a NFHCA South Atlantic All-Region selection. Carr becomes the first player in program history to earn this accolade.  

K. LaMaina earns her second All-ECAC first team selection after leading the Cougars in both points (54) and goals (24). The Oaklyn, N.J. native was named to the NFHCA South Atlantic All Region second team and the All-NJAC first team.

S. LaMaina earns her second All-ECAC first team selection after totaling 45 points on 15 goals and a team leading 15 assists. The Oaklyn, N.J. native was named the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, an All-NJAC first team selection and a NFHCA South Atlantic All-Region selection.

Patrone earns her first All-ECAC first team selection after totaling 28 points on nine goals and 10 assists and being named to the All-NJAC first team.

LaFronz guided the Cougars to a program record 21 wins, captured the NJAC regular season title and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. She was also named the NJAC Coach of the Year as Kean was ranked as high as No. 8 in the NFHCA poll and defeated four nationally ranked opponents during a banner season.
