HOBOKEN, N.J. (12/30/17)- Keenan Williams Jr. scored 12 points as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Stevens Institute of Technology, 69-44 on Saturday afternoon.
Spencer Cook finished with 15 points for the Ducks who improve to 6-3 overall. Adrian Baucum finished with 11 points for the Cougars who fall to 3-8 overall.
After the Ducks opened the contest on a 9-2 run, the Cougars countered with an 8-3 run of their own to cut the Stevens lead to 12-10 on a Baucum jumper and a Stephen Strom triple. The Ducks responded with a 23-5 run over the final 10 minutes for a commanding 35-15 halftime advantage.
In the second half, Stevens extended their double-digit lead to as large as 25 points before the final buzzer sounded.
Justin Watson finished with six points, five rebounds, and two steals, while Strom totaled seven points and three rebounds off the bench. Kevin Florio made three triples and finished with 11 points for the Ducks.
Head Coach Rob Kurzinsky and the Cougars will return to action on Jan. 3rd, hosting the Profs of Rowan University at 8:00 p.m.
