Former professional basketball standout Jonathan Jones will return to his alma mater in 2016-17 to coach the Kean University men’s basketball program. Jones played professionally overseas from 2013-15 after earning All-American honors with the Cougars in 2011.
Jones played for professional teams in Argentina, Finland, Norway and Luxembourg and was named the Eurobasket.com BLNO Forward of the Year, the Import Player of the Year and the All-Imports Team during his professional career.
While with Kean, Jones was a First-Team All-American, the ECAC Player of the Year, the Met Basketball Writers Association Player of the Year, the D3Hoops Atlantic Region Player of the Year and the NJAC Player of the Year. He is second on Kean’s all-time rebounding list (915) and third on the all-time scoring list with 1,359 points.
