UNION, N.J. (3/4/17) – The Centenary University men's lacrosse team remained undefeated with a tight 5-4 win over Kean University on Saturday. Nolan Gottshall scored twice for the Cyclones, including the game-winner.
Mike Snellen staked Kean to a 1-0 lead with his fourth goal of the season, but CU scored the next two. Matt Brodley lit the lamp for the seventh time on the young season to knot the game a two by the end of the first period.
Defense ruled in the second half. CU's Chris Cameron made 15 saves on the day to earn the win between the pipes, and did not allow a single second-half goal. Gottshall netted the game-winner with just 3:42 left in the game and the Cyclones held on to move to 3-0 on the year.
Ryan Sieb made five stops in goal for the Cougars. Kean is now 1-2 overall.
The Cougars will next travel to Myrtle Beach on Tuesday to tangle with Hibert College in neutral-site action.
