Men’s Volleyball Boasts Four All-Conference Selections

NEW YORK, N.Y. (4/17/17) – The Kean University men's volleyball program placed four players on All-Skyline teams – Jacob Kauffman, Jared Warner, Shayron Taylor and Steven Zarzycki - after posting a perfect season in the conference and winning their sixth consecutive regular season and tournament league crowns.

Warner and Kauffman landed on the first-team. Taylor and Zarzycki were second-team selections.

Kauffman, who was also named the Skyline Player of the Year, currently tops all Skyline Conference players in aces per set. In addition, he leads the Cougars in kills and points by a large margin.

His stat line currently stands at 236 kills with a .285 percentage, 54 aces, 69 digs, 24 blocks and 304 total points.

In Skyline matches, he was even more dominant, with a .464 hitting percentage, 65 kills, 0.78 aces per set, a dig per set and over 4.5 points per set.

Warner hit a whopping .543 in league play this season, with 1.6 kills per set, a team-best 19 blocks, and 43 total points. He also added eight digs and three aces against Skyline opponents.

Warner's stats to-date include 143 kills, 74 total blocks (including 12 solos), 39 digs, 15 aces and 201 total points.

Taylor hit .438 in league play this year and averaged more than two kills a set. He added six digs, nine blocks and 38 points in league play.

Al told, Taylor hit a team-best .396 on the season (among those who played more than half the team's sets) with 151 kills and a team-leading 75 blocks. He posted a total of 207.5 points.

Zarzycki hit .360 against Skyline opponents and was second on the team with 50 kills. He ripped six aces, had 15 digs and was in on 10 blocks. His totals from his freshman season include 182 kills, 29 aces, 72 digs, 25 blocks and 224.5 points, good for third on the team.

The Cougars will host SUNY New Paltz in the Opening Round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship on Saturday, April 22.
