Knapp becomes the fourth different Kean player to earn NJAC Player of the Week honors this season. The All-NJAC Second Team honoree went 7-for-13 (.538) with a .769 slugging percentage in four straight wins to capture the 2017 NJAC Softball Championship title as the league's No. 3 seed. She drove in six runs, scored three, and blasted one home run on the week. She hit a two-run homer to help defeat defending champion Rowan in the opening round. She went 2-for-3 with an RBI in a win over two-seed William Paterson, and drove in a run to help defeat top-seeded Ramapo. She went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the championship win over Stockton.
Knapp heads into the NCAA Tournament with a .375 batting average, ninth in the NJAC. Her 31 RBIs this season is tied for seventh in the conference.
McMahon earns her third NJAC Pitcher of the Week honor after hurling all four wins in the NJAC Softball Tournament to help Kean win the title. The All-NJAC Second Team pitcher pushed her record to 22-2, tossing four complete games and two shutouts in the tournament while striking out 10. She struck out a week-high five in the Cougars' upset of top-seeded Ramapo, while limiting the Roadrunners to just four hits. She also held No. 2 seed William Paterson to five hits.
McMahon ranks third in the NJAC with a 1.20 ERA, and her 22 wins is best among all NJAC pitchers.
