Camden, N.J. (2/3/18) – Rutgers-Camden sent the game into overtime with a desperation trey at the buzzer and later defeated the Kean University women's basketball by the final of 74-68 on Saturday afternoon.
Leading 63-59 with 15 seconds to go in regulation, Rutgers-Camden (13-8, 10-5 NJAC) started their comeback as Gabby Greene tallied her 23rd point of the afternoon on a three-pointer with nine seconds on the clock. The Cougars' (9-12, 6-9 NJAC) Payce Lange pushed the advantage back out to three with two points from the charity stripe with five tics remaining. Brennah Lambert then sent the game into overtime with her only basket of the afternoon as time expired.
The Scarlet Raptors then took that momentum into the fifth period and scored eight straight points to pull away with the win.
Rutgers-Camden outscored the Cougars 17-8 over the final seven minutes of action.
De'Mean Bond led the Cougars with 16 points and eight rebounds while Lange registered 15 points (with 13 made free throws).
Greene finished with a game-high 23 points while teammate Michelle Obasi had a double-double 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Kean travels to Rowan to take on the Profs on Wednesday, February 7th.
