Women's Lacrosse Named Dark Horse Selection in NJAC Preseason Coaches' Poll

Pitman, N.J. (2/16/17) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team has been picked as the dark horse selection in the recently announced New Jersey Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Kean was selected to finish fourth in addition to their dark horse selection.

The Cougars are coming off a 12-5 overall record in 2016, a season in which they nearly doubled their opponents' scoring output, 210 goals to 111. Kean forced 217 turnovers and scooped up an even 300 ground balls. The Cougars also corralled 209 draw controls and had an .853 clear percentage.

The Cougars return NJAC all-stars Brittany Ballack and Nikki Apostolopoulos.  Ballack was third in the league with six assists in NJAC play and Apostolopoulos led the league with 10.5 saves per game.

In total, Kean returns 18 players from last year's squad.
