Women's Lacrosse Falls to Farmingdale, 14-11

Union, N.J. (3/16/17) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season by the final of 14-11 on Thursday against Farmingdale State College.

The Rams (2-0) jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first 8 minutes of action and the Cougars (4-1) were not able to dig out of the hole.

Trailing 8-3 at the break and 11-3 after the first five minutes of the second half, Kean regrouped and scored eight of the game's final 11 goals.  To break down the end of the game even further, the Cougars netted six of the last seven goals. 

Offensively the Cougars were led by Krista LaMaina who had three goals while Lex Meyer (pictured left) and Emily Stasuk added two each.  In net, Nikki Apostolopoulos registered seven saves.

For the Rams, Brittany Rosino and Megan Sullivan led all players with four goals apiece.  Janisha Sanchez chipped in with a goal and three assists.  Tori Johnson recorded 10 saves in the win.

Kean returns to action on Saturday when they host King's College at 1 p.m.
