Women's Soccer Falls to Scranton

Union, N.J. (9/2/17) - The Kean University Women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat to the University of Scranton in day two of the Cougar Classic.

Casey McDonnell made two saves within the last ten seconds of the first half to keep the game scoreless at the break.

The Royals (2-0) scratched across their first goal of the game with a cross from Taylor Stevens along the left side and a great touch and shot to the back of the net from Corinne McDonald.  In the 66th minute, the Royals added insurance as Jamie Hreniuk pushed the ball past the keeper on a breakaway that slowly rolled into the back of the net for the score.

Senior Kendall Machak had three of Kean's nine shots on the day.

The Cougars (1-1) return to action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. as they take on FDU-Florham in their first road game of the season.
