Men's Soccer Blanks TCNJ, 1-0
UNION, N.J. (10/14/06) - Junior forward
Anthony Tuesta (Clifton, N.J.) scored the game's
lone goal early in the second half, as the Cougars defeated The
College of New Jersey, 1-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference men's
soccer action on Saturday evening. The victory improved the Cougars
to 6-4-5 overall, 3-2-2 in the NJAC, while the Lions dropped to
5-6-5 overall, 2-4 in the conference.
After a scoreless first half, sophomore forward Timothy
DosSantos (Linden, N.J.) dribbled the ball up the left
sideline and delivered a cross through the box to Tuesta who fired
a shot past the Lions goalkeeper in the 57th minute.
In the net for Kean, junior keeper Kyle Crego (Ocean City,
N.J.) made six saves, while Lions goalkeeper Matt
Kasperavicius (Jackson, N.J.) stopped five shots.
The Lions held a 15-10 edge in shots, including a 10-6 advantage in
the second half, and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Kean returns to action on Monday, October 16, when they travel to
City College of New York in non-conference action at 4 p.m.
