Cougars Rally to Tie Oneonta in Men's Soccer
ONEONTA, N.Y. (10/7/06) - Kean University
sophomore James Doherty (Little Silver, N.J.) tied
the game with just 90 seconds remaining in regulation, as the
Cougars rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie Oneonta State University,
3-3, in non-conference men's soccer action on Saturday
afternoon.
Trailing 3-0 in the second half, junior Konrad Kruczek
(Clifton, N.J.) started the rally in the 62nd minute, as
he scored off the corner kick from junior Jeff Fisher
(Lawrence, N.J.). Just nine minutes later, sophomore
Thomas Azydzik (Clark, N.J.) delivered a cross
from the right side into the box to sophomore Timothy
DosSantos (Linden, N.J.) who found the back of the net to
trim the Red Dragon lead to 3-2.
With only 1:30 left in regulation, Doherty picked up the loose ball
during a scramble inside the box and scored to tie the game and
force overtime.
In goal for Kean, junior Kyle Crego (Ocean City,
N.J.) made three saves in the game.
The Cougars return to action on Monday, October 9, when they host
two-time defending national champion Messiah College in
non-conference action at 7:30 p.m.
