Cougar Field Hockey Outlasts Rochester, 2-1
Dallas, Pa. (9/1/06) - Kean freshman
Nuran Onal (Cinnaminson, N.J.) scored the
game-winner with just 6:53 left in the game to lift the Cougars to
a 2-1 season opening victory over Rochester this afternoon.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead then Alli Green
(Glendora, N.J.) scored off an assist by Vicki
Egerer (Washington, N.J.) just five minutes into the game.
The Yellowjackets tied the score when Kristy
Johnson knocked home a rebound at 21:11.
Kean freshman Jenni Barry (Berkeley Heights, N.J.)
made six saves in goal for her first victory, while Rochester's
Rachel Cahana had three saves. The Yellowjackets
outshot the Cougars 19-5, while also leading nine penalty corners
to five for Kean. The game was played at Misericordia College in
Pennsylvania.
