Men's Basketball Advances to Championship

Springfield, Mass. (1/2/07) - Senior forward Bryan Keller
(Piscataway, N.J.) scored a game-high 16 points and added four
assists as the Cougars rallied past SUNY Plattsburgh, 67-62, in the
Holiday Inn/Naismith Classic.
Despite trailing by three points at the half (29-26), Kean
outscored the Cardinals by a 41-33 margin in the second half to
improve to 9-2 overall on the season. SUNY Plattsburgh drops to 4-4
overall.
The final 20 minutes of play was a see-saw battle as the two teams
traded buckets all the way until the 6:44 mark. The score was
knotted at 50 apiece with 6:44 left in regulation before the
Cougars went on an 11-5 run to take a 61-55 lead with 2:46 to go.
Plattsburgh rallied to pull within one (63-62) with just 11 seconds
left, but Kean was able to fend off the Cardinals for the
five-point victory.
Senior guard Lamar Wright (Galloway, N.J.) chipped in with 13
points and a game-best five steals while senior guard Bryan Miller
(Trenton, N.J.) also put up double-figure numbers with 10 points
and a team-high six assists.
The Cougars advance to the championship game and will take on host
Springfield College on Wednesday, January 3rd at 7:30 p.m.
