Beyruti Leads Kean Past Husson, 88-57
DAVIE, FLA. (1/3/07) - Sophomore Melissa Beyruti (Union City,
N.J.) scored a career high 28 points as Kean University picked up
their second win in the Florida Sunshine Shootout, defeating Husson
College, 88-57, Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman Alysha Taylor (Galloway, N.J.) finished with a
season-high 11 points while sophomore Ebony Jackson (Newark, N.J.)
recorded ten points and 12 assists.
The Cougars opened up the game on a 23-6 run in the first eight
minutes of action and never looked back. Heading into the locker
room ahead 49-22, Beyruti led all players with 18 points, including
four treys, while Jackson had eight points and nine assists.
Kean kept pace in the second half, extending their lead to as
many as 35 points on two occasions with Taylor providing the
go-ahead points.
The Cougars return to action on Monday, January 8th as they
travel to take on the John Jay College Bloodhounds at 5 p.m.
