OT Goal Lifts Rowan Past Kean, 4-3
Glassboro, N.J. (11/3/07) - Rowan forward
Rachel Cheafsky (Ocean City, N.J.) scored with one
second remaining in overtime to give the Profs a 4-3 victory over
Kean Saturday afternoon.
With the loss the Cougars fall to 10-6 overall and 2-4 in
conference action. The win improves Rowan to 14-4 and 5-1 in
the NJAC. Tonight's match was the final scheduled game of the
2007 season.
Kean tallied the first goal in today's action as freshman
Brandee Brown (South
Plainfield,
N.J.) scored an unassisted
goal. After the Profs tied things up the Cougars responded
again as junior Stephanie Cirino
(Warminster,
Pa.) scored off a pass from
Katie McGee (Cherry
Hill,
N.J.).
After an exchange of goals in the second half Rowan send the
game into overtime as Kacey Ehret (Collingswood,
N.J.) scored off a rebound with just 2:41 remaining.
Sophomore keeper Jenni Barry (Berkeley
Heights,
N.J.) recorded 10 saves while
Cirino and McGee each had two defensive saves.
Rowan outshot the Cougars, 26-8 while also holding a 21-5
advantage in penalty corners.
