Ramapo Blanks Kean, 3-0

(9/29/07)- The Roadrunners scored three different
unassisted goals in the second half to defeat the Cougars, 3-0, in
New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) action Saturday afternoon at
Kean Alumni Stadium.
Sophomore Jay Castaldo (Jacobstown, N.J.)
recorded the game-winner at 65:31 as Ramapo improved to 8-1-1
overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Roadrunners used a
balanced attack late and tacked on insurance goals at 78:49 and
87:10 by junior Ken Hussey (Parsippany, N.J.) and Dave
Marin (Clifton, N.J.), respectively.
Sophomore keeper Ian Tighe (Wyckoff, N.J.)
tallied four saves in the shutout while senior Kyle Crego
(Ocean City, N.J.) had four saves as well in the loss for
Kean (4-6, 2-3 NJAC).
Ramapo edged Kean, 13-12 in shots while the Cougars held a
commanding 11-3 advantage in corners.
Kean will resume play on Monday, October 1st as they
travel to Stevens Institute of Technology in a non-conference
matchup slated for 8 p.m.
