Stockton Surges Past Kean, 87-60

Richard Stockton College scored 49 first half points on their way
to defeating Kean University, 87-60, Wednesday evening at the
Sports Center.
Senior Lamar Wright
(Galloway,
N.J.) led the Cougars with 16
points and eight rebounds as KU falls to 6-11 overall and 1-4 in
New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play. Forward
Jerome Hubbard
(Neptune,
N.J.) led the Ospreys (12-4, 5-1
NJAC) with 15 points in the win.
Kean would score the first basket of the game on a trey by
freshman Keith Williams (Jersey
City,
N.J.) but that would be their
only lead of the contest as Stockton rolled off 16 straight points
while forcing four turnovers in the span. The Ospreys would
lead by as many as 28 in the first half and held a 49-22 advantage
going into the break.
Williams led the Cougars with six first half points with
freshman Jonathan Jones
(Linden,
N.J.) adding five. Forward
Jon Greene (Wildwood, N.J.) tallied 12 points and
six rebounds in 15 minutes of action for Stockton.
The Cougars shot just 35.7% (20-56) and committed 26 turnovers
in the loss.
Freshman Rodlin Pierre
(Orange,
N.J.) recorded 10 points and nine
rebounds off the bench for KU while teammate Shavon Hogges
(Paterson,
N.J.) added nine.
Kean travels to Montclair State University on Saturday, January
26th to take on the Red Hawks at 2 p.m.
