Cougars Roll To 16th Win; Defeat Stockton,

Cardiss Jackman (Tobyhanna, Pa.) scored a
career-high 28 points while junior Ebony Jackson (Newark,
N.J.) tallied a career-high 16 assists as #7/8 Kean
University rolled to their 16th win of the season by
defeating host Richard Stockton College, 107-48, Wednesday evening.
Junior Melissa Beyruti (Union
City,
N.J.) recorded 24 points in 19
minutes of action as the Cougars picked up their fourth New Jersey
Athletic Conference (NJAC) win of the season. Forward
Kelly Guarrera (Shamong, N.J.) led the Ospreys
with 17 points as Richard Stockton falls to 8-8 overall and 3-3 in
NJAC play.

Cooper recorded her 12th double-double
of the season

Stockton took their only lead of the contest a minute and a half
into the game as Guarrera hit a jumper for a 4-3 advantage.
The Cougars then took over, scoring the game's next 23 points over
the next five minutes to give a comfortable cushion. Kean
went into the break with a 31 point advantage (55-24).
Senior Chari' Cooper
(Paulsboro,
N.J.) led KU with a double-double
10 points and 10 rebounds while Jackman added 15 points.
The Cougars would go onto to lead by as many as 61 points in the
second half as 13 players participated in tonight's action.
Freshman Tiffany Patrick
(Piscataway,
N.J.) registered seven points and
12 rebounds while Cooper finished with a double-double 12 points
and 12 rebounds. Rookie April Smith
(Barnegat,
N.J.) added eight points and
seven rebounds off the bench in the win.
Kean continues with NJAC action as they travel to Montclair
State University to take on the Red Hawks on Saturday, January
26th at 4 p.m.
