#17 Rochester Blanks Kean, 3-0

Union, N.J. (10/26/08) - #17 University of Rochester notched three goals, including two in the second half to shutout Kean University in their final home match of the season, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Kean Alumni Stadium.

The win gives the Yellowjackets a 10-2-2 mark while the loss drops KU to 6-12-1, with seven losses to nationally ranked opponents this season.

Junior Clif White (Lakeland, Fla.) got things going in the first half as he scored off an assist from J.J. Dennstedt (Victor, N.Y.).  The score would remain that way through the break before Dennstedt scored an unassisted goal of his own 10 minutes into the second half.  Junior Kevin McDonald (Greensboro, N.C.) wrapped up the scoring with a goal at 84:20 of assists from Steven Gillmer (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Chris Blivin (Durham, N.C.).

Both teams split time with their keepers this afternoon.  In equal action, junior Michael Peacock (Pittsford, N.Y.) had three saves while Brandon Campbell (Suffern, N.Y.) had one for the Yellowjackets who outshot the Cougars, 21-7.  Sophomore Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield, N.J.) had three saves in just under 58 minutes of work while freshman Kyle Kemp (Pittsgrove, N.J.) (pictured right) had three in the final 32 minutes for KU.

Rochester held a commanding 11-1 advantage in corner opportunities.

Kean closes out the 2008 season on Wednesday, October 29th when they travel to Ramapo College for NJAC action at 3:30 p.m.
