Romeo Leads Kean Past WestConn, 23-12

Rosalia Romeo (Ridgewood, N.J.) notched a
season-high nine goals as the Kean University women's lacrosse team
defeated visiting Western Connecticut State University, 23-12,
Thursday afternoon.
Romeo finished with 12 points (nine goals and three assists) as
Kean improved to 2-1 overall. The Colonials fell to 0-2 as
three players netted three goals apiece.
KU dominated the first half with a 15-6 halftime lead. The
Cougars kept the momentum going, as most of the second half was
played with a 10 point or large lead.
J
unior Stephanie Cirino (Warminster, Pa.) had a big
afternoon as she recorded five goals and four assists (nine points)
while senior Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.)
tallied five goals in the win. Freshman Amanda South
(Fairless Hills,
Pa.) (pictured right) also
enjoyed a productive afternoon as she had three goals and two
assists for five points.
In net freshman Ashlie Berghold
(Boyertown,
Pa.) recorded 14 saves in 60
minutes of action.
The Cougars will return to action on Saturday, March
15th when they take on Chestnut Hill College at Kean
Alumni Stadium at 1 p.m.
