Women's Lacrosse Defeats Kutztown, 15-10
KUTZTOWN, Pa. (3/29/08) - Freshman attack Rosalia
Romeo (Ridgewood, N.J.) and junior attack
Stephanie Cirino (Warminster, Pa.) combined for 11
goals to lead the Kean University women's lacrosse team to a 15-10
victory over Division II Kutztown University on Saturday
afternoon.
The Cougars (7-2) scored the first six goals of the game,
including three from Cirino and two from Romeo, en-route to a 12-6
lead at halftime.
In the second half, Kean scored the first two goals to extend
the lead to 14-6, before the Bears netted four of the last five
goals to put the final score at 15-10.
Romeo netted six goals, while Cirino finished with five goals in
the victory. Freshman Nuran Onal (Cinnaminson,
N.J.) (pictured right) added one goal and a game-high six
draw controls.
In goal, freshman Ashlie Berghold (Boyertown,
Pa.) recorded six saves in the winning effort.
