Leathem, Gannon Propel Cougars Past Vassar,

Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J.) recorded a
career-high seven assists to go along with a goal to push the Kean
University men's lacrosse team past Vassar College, 16-5, Wednesday
evening at Kean Alumni Stadium.
Junior C.J. Gannon (Morris Plains, N.J.) added
four goals in the win for the Cougars (2-2), while sophomore
Cody Scandore (North Andover, Mass.) had a team-high two
goals for the Brewers (0-2) in the loss.
Both teams played an even first period with KU edging Vassar 3-2 in
goals. After just one goal in the second period by Kean's
Dennis Lukascko (Lincoln Park, N.J.) (pictured
right), the Cougars went into halftime with a 4-2 lead.
Kean then broke the game wide open netting five uncontested
goals in the third period for comfortable 9-2 lead.
Offensively the Cougars held a 33-20 edge in shots while
converting on 3-of-4 extra-man opportunites.
Lukascko finished the night with three goals and an assist while
junior Eric Gillar (Milltown, N.J.) added two
goals and an assist.
In goal, senior Dave Nichols (Florham Park,
N.J.) tallied 11 saves as he picked up his second win of
the season.
The Cougars will return to action on Saturday, March
8th at 1 p.m. as they take on Centenary College.
