Cabrini Defeats Kean in ECAC

Freshman Amanda Alexandrowicz (Ridley, Pa.) recorded a
game-high six goals to lead #3 Cabrini College past #6 Kean
University, Wednesday evening in the ECAC Division III Women's
Lacrosse South Tournament at Kean Alumni Stadium.
With the win the Cavaliers (13-5) advance to take on #2 Stevens
Institute of Technology at noon on Saturday, May 10th.
With the loss, the Cougars finish the 2008 season with a 14-6
record, their best mark ever in the 13 year history of the program
at Kean.
It was a see-saw affair in the first 10 minutes of action as both
teams traded goals in spurts. KU pulled as close at 6-5 at
20:22 as senior Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.)
took a pass from junior Stephanie Cirino (Warminster,
Pa.). Cabrini then sprinted into the half, scoring
six straight goals for a comfortable, 12-5, halftime advantage.
The Cavaliers went on to score two more as Alexandrowicz netted
two unassisted goals in the first two minutes of play in the second
half. The Cougars ended on a positive note, scoring the
game's final three goals, including their final goal with just 7
seconds remaining.
For the Cavaliers, freshman Jaime O'Hanlon (Springfield,
Pa.) had four goals and an assist while senior Katelyn
Penrose (Springfield, Pa.) tallied four goals and two assists,
good for six points.
Freshman Meghan Sullivan (Sewell, N.J.) stopped six
shots in the win.
For the Cougars, Cirino finished with four goals and two assists
while Green closed out her Kean career with four goals.
Freshman Ashlie Berghold (Boyertown, Pa.)
(pictured right) recorded eight saves in the loss.
