Second Half Scores Send N.C.
Wesleyan Over Kean, 4-1
Rocky Mount, N.C. (8/31/08) - Kean tied things up early in
the second half, but could not hold on as host North Carolina
Wesleyan scored three unanswered goals on their way to defeating
the Cougars, 4-1, Sunday afternoon.
The loss gives Kean an overall record of 0-1-1 so far this
season, while the win is the first for Battling Bishops (1-1).
Kean freshman Marc Cifelli (Essex Fells, N.J.)
(pictured right) scored the Cougars lone goal in the
48th minute which tied things at one apiece. N.C.
Wesleyan took the lead for good off a penalty kick at 57:17.
Sophomore keeper Alfredo Oquendo (North Plainfield,
N.J.) recorded seven saves in 77 minutes of action.
The Cougars, who were outshot 21-5, will return to action on
Wednesday, September 3rd when they travel to Newark
(neutral site) to take on New York University at 7 p.m.
