Junior Dean Hughes
(Pemberton,
N.J.) led Kean with 13 points but
it wasn't enough as William Paterson snapped a two game skid,
defeating Kean, 62-49.
Sophomore Akinwande Oshodi
(Florence,
N.J.) had 12 points as Ku falls
to 11-10 overall and 4-5 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference
(NJAC).
William Paterson built a nine-point lead by the middle of the
first half, pushing ahead 20-11 after Ellis sank three free throws
with 11:21 to play. Kean pulled within four a minute later as
Oshodi (pictured right) scored all four points, but the Pioneers
entered the break ahead 34-24 with a 7-2 burst to end the first
period.
The Pioneers extended their lead in the second half, aided by
four treys and left with the 62-49 victory.
Junior Vinnie Darpino
(Colonia,
N.J.) finished with seven points
and five rebounds.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, February
4th as they take on nationally ranked Richard Stockton
at 8 p.m.
