Men's Basketball Falls at Albright,
74-65

Vinnie Darpino (Colonia, N.J.) and
Akinwande Oshodi (Florence Twp., N.J.) each scored
16 points, however the Kean University men's basketball team fell
to host Albright College, 74-65, in non-conference action on Monday
evening.
Junior guard Zac Shaeffer (Lampeter, Pa.) scored a
game-high 26 points for the Lions (8-1), while junior forward
Jonathan Jones (Linden, N.J.) added a
double-double for the Cougars (3-5).
The Lions controlled throughout much of the contest and led by
as many as five points on several occasions in the opening half,
including the 35-30 lead at the break, as Shaeffer had 16
first-half points. Jones came off the bench to score eight
points and grab seven rebounds in the first half for the
Cougars.
In the second half, Albright quickly built a double-digit lead
and led by as many as 13 points at 46-33 just 3:11 into the
half. The Cougars battled back, using an 8-0 run midway
through the half to pull within 51-48 with less than 10 minutes
remaining, as Darpino scored the first four points of the run and
Oshodi closed out the run with four straight points.
Albright pushed the lead back to eight points at 62-54 and
maintained at least a five-point lead the rest of the way to remain
undefeated at home.
Jones finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Oshodi
added seven rebounds.
The Cougars return to action next Monday, December 28, when they
travel to Division I Brown University for a non-conference game at
7 p.m.
