Women's Soccer Defeated by
FDU-Florham, 2-1
MADISON, N.J. (9/16/09) - College at Florham
junior forward Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, N.J) scored
twice in an 82 second span in the second half to lift the host
Devils to a 2-1 victory over Kean University in non-conference
action on Wednesday evening.
Sophomore Danielle Esposito (Holmdel, N.J.)
netted the lone goal for the Cougars (2-2-2), who had their
four-game non-losing streak snapped.
The Cougars took at 1-0 lead in the 21st minutes,
when Esposito scored off the assist from rookie Carly
Seidel (Winslow Twp., N.J.) (pictured
right).
Kean maintained the lead into the second half, until Kanickij
knotted the game at the 61:32 mark. Just 1:22 later, she
scored the game-winner off the assist from junior forward Lora
Fink (Hamilton Square, N.J.) and rookie Ashley Vieira (Red
Bank, N.J.).
For the Cougars, junior goalkeeper Leandra Russo
(Galloway, N.J.) made three saves
Kean opens New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday,
September 19, when the Cougars host The College of New Jersey at 7
p.m.
