Men's Soccer Falls to
Montclair State, 2-0
MONTCLAIR, N.J. (9/30/09)
– #11/6 Montclair State University scored once each half to defeat Kean University
in New Jersey Athletic Conference men's soccer action on
Wednesday evening.
The Red Hawk victory was the 41st
consecutive home victory, breaking the longest home winning streak
in NCAA men's soccer victory. Senior Michael Cullen
(Clementon, N.J.) scored the game-winner for the Red Hawks
(9-0-1, 4-0-0 NJAC) less than seven minutes into the game.
Junior Alfredo Oquendo (North
Plainfield, N.J.) made eight saves for Kean (4-5-2, 0-3-1
NJAC).
Cullen scored just 6:05 into the contest for
Montclair State, while junior Larry Geraghty (Cranford,
N.J.) added the insurance goal with less than 10 minutes
remaining in the game.
The Cougars remain on the road this weekend,
when they travel to William Paterson University for an NJAC game at
1 p.m.
