EWING, N.J. (10/16/10) – The College of New Jersey
scored a pair of second-half goals to defeat Kean University, 2-0,
in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The third-ranked Lions (12-1-1, 6-1 NJAC) held a 26-6 advantage
in shots, including a 17-1 advantage in the second half.
For the Cougars (8-3-4, 2-2-3), senior Leandra
Russo (pictured right) made 11 saves.
After a scoreless first half, the Lions got on the board in the
63rd minute when Katie Landrigan scored her
third goal of the season off the assist from Katie
Lindacher.
The Lions added the insurance goal late in the game, as
Jessica Davila netted her eighth goal of the season with
just 6:11 remaining in the game.
Kean returns to action on Tuesday, October 19, when they host
Western Connecticut State University in non-conference action at
7:30 p.m.
