Union, N.J. (10/26/10) – Junior
Kathleen Notos scored the game-winner with under a minute
to go in regulation as The College of New Jersey defeated Kean
University, 2-1, Tuesday evening in NJAC action.
With the scored knotted at one-all, Notos scored the game-winner
at 69:21 off a deflection and pass from Jessica
Falcone. The win improves #13 TCNJ to 14-4 overall and
5-0 in conference action. The loss drops Kean to 9-5 overall
and 3-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
The Cougars scored the first goal of the evening at 30:49 as

Hoch delivered the penalty corner pass to junior

Triano, who then dribbled around a defender to her
left and fired for the 1-0 advantage. It would stay that way
until the second half as senior Mary Waller converted a
penalty stroke opportunity at 38:12 to tie the score up at
one-all.
In the 64th minute it appeared that the Cougars would
take a 2-1 lead as junior Cat
Dowling fired into a wide-open cage before junior
Alex Okuniewicz hustled over to stop the shot for the
defensive save.
Senior Lauren
Dobbs stopped nine shots for Kean while senior back
Joelle
Vitale (pictured right) had two defensive saves in the
loss.
TCNJ held a 16-6 advantage in penalty corners and a 19-5
advantage in shots.
The Cougars square off against SUNY New Paltz in their last full
regular season matchup on Friday at 7 p.m. at Kean Alumni
Stadium.
