Men's Lacrosse Opens 2010 Season
with Win at Marymount
Boyds, Md. (2/20/10) - Senior Jazimar
Bailey (Hoboken, N.J.) recorded a hat-trick as the Kean
University men's lacrosse team opened up the 2010 season defeating
host Marymount University (Va.), 9-3, Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (1-0) never trailed in the contest as senior
Scott Leathem (Fair Lawn, N.J.) scored just 26
seconds into the contest. KU kept that momentum and headed
into the break with a 3-1 lead. It was the fourth quarter
that put the match out of reach as Kean scored four goals in the
span. Bailey (pictured right) added two goals while transfer
Mikey Shea (Congers, N.Y.) recorded his first of
the season.
Senior finished with a goal and five groundballs while Leathem
had two goals and an assist. Senior John Gesumaria
(Cranford, N.J.) collected 14 saves in the win.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, February
27th when they travel to Stevenson University.
