Men's Lacrosse Cruises Past Centenary, 20-3

UNION, N.J. (3/24/10) – Sophomore Nick Angrisani (Belle Mead, N.J.) scored a game-high four goals to lead the Kean University men's lacrosse team to a 20-3 win over visiting Centenary College on Wednesday evening.

Rookie Sean Bobal (Clinton, N.J.) and senior C.J. Gannon (Morris Plains, N.J.) each added three goals for the Cougars (4-4), who had 12 different players score goals to snap a two-game losing skid.

For the Cyclones (3-2), freshman Conor Nolan (Hillsborough, N.J.) scored twice and added an assist.

Angrisani scored the first goal just 61 seconds into the contest, as the Cougars would score all three goals of the first quarter for the 3-0 lead.

The Cougars netted the first four goals of the second quarter, including three in a two minute span midway through  the quarter, before Centenary would get on the board with a goal by Nolan with 5:05 left in the quarter.  Angrisani netted the final goal of the first half with 1:20 remaining to give the Cougars an 8-1 lead at the break.

In the third quarter, Kean again scored three of the quarter's five goals in a two-minute span, as the Cougars extended the lead to 13-1 en-route to scoring a season-high 20 goals.

Junior Justin Lappen (Tolland, Conn.) (pictured right) picked up 10 groundballs, as he won 15-of-18 faceoffs.  Senior Anthony Bertucci (Edison, N.J.) added two goals and four groundballs.

Senior goalkeeper John Gesumaria (Cranford, N.J.) made four saves in the win, as the Cougars held a 45-12 advantage in shots.
