Allentown, Pa. (9/3/10) – The Kean
University field hockey team picked up their first win of the
season as they defeated Misericordia University, 2-0, Friday
afternoon at the Mule Classic at Muhlenberg College.
Senior Amie Hoch scored what would be the
game-winning goal off a pass from Erica Kelly
(pictured right) on a penalty corner in the 31st minute
of action. The Cougars (1-1) would score their second goal of
the match off another penalty corner opportunity as junior
Olivia Triano dribbled through the circle and
fired off a shot in close range.
Kean dominated in corner opportunities (13-3) and held a slight
advantage in shots (8-6).
Senior Lauren Dobbs stopped one shot in
goal.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday as the face host
Muhlenberg College at 3 p.m.
