Harrisonburg, Va. (1/21/11) – The Kean University men's volleyball team started the history of the program off on the right foot as they defeated Lancaster Bible College, 3-0, Friday afternoon at the Hampton Inn & Sleep Inn EMU D-II/D-III Classic.
The win is not only the first for the Cougars in their first match of their inaugural season, but also counts as a win in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) Metro Division.
Kean defeated the Chargers by the final set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-11.
Some statistical highlights include 13 kills from sophomore Steve Vahalla and 10 kills from freshman Christian Portera. Freshman setter Naveed Khawaja added 33 assists.
Kean continues with three more matches at Eastern Mennonite University this evening and on Saturday.
