Field Hockey Falls to #5 TCNJ, 4-0

Ewing, N.J. (10/18/11) – The #5 College of New Jersey field hockey team broke a seven game winning streak for the Cougars as the hosts defeated Kean, 4-0, Tuesday evening in NJAC action.

The win kept fifth-ranked TCNJ unbeaten in conference play at 5-0, while moving to 13-2 overall. The Cougars fall to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play. It was Kean's first loss since September 13 when they fell to Montclair State in overtime.

The Lions played with the lead most of the game thanks to an early goal by Christy Wham.  Wham banged in a short pass from Alex Okuniewicz for her ninth goal of the season just 3:42 into the game.

Sophomore Erin Langan made seven stops for the Cougars who were held to just eight shots and nine penalty corners for the night.

The Cougars schedule doesn't get any easier as they head to 17th-ranked Rowan University for an NJAC matchup on Friday evening.
