UNION, N.J. (3/24/11) – The Kean University men's volleyball team cruised past Purchase College, 3-0, in a non-conference match on Thursday evening in the Cougars final home match of the season.
The Cougars (11-22) posted the straight set win (25-13, 25-17, 25-17) behind 11 kills from freshman James Pompeo. Junior setter Bruno Estrada led the Panthers (2-15) with a match-high 20 assists.
Pompeo (pictured left) added five digs and one assisted block, while freshman Arthur Kosakowski had six kills and just one error in 10 attack attempts. Freshman Naveed Khawaja had 17 assists and five digs in the final two sets in the win.
For the Panthers, junior Kevon Kareem Bruce had a team-high eight kills.
