Glassboro, N.J. (4/23/11) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team fell to host Rowan University, 20-9, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars (8-8, 1-4 NJAC) were led by sophomore Lyndsey Cannon who tallied a game-high six goals.
Kean found themselves in an early 3-0 hole but broke up the shutout with an unassisted goal from Cannon (pictured left) just under three minutes into the action. The Profs then controlled the first half of action scoring the next five goals to take an 8-1 lead. Cannon would score an additional three goals in the half as the teams headed into the break with a 10-4 score.
Rowan then paced the second half with nine additional goals for the final of 20-9. Senior Joelle Vitale collected six draw controls while senior Amanda South and freshmen Ciara Mastrodomenico and Julie Knodt finished with a goal apiece.
Kean will be in action on Tuesday as they host the College of Mt. St. Vincent in the first round of the Skyline Tournament.
