Staten Island, N.Y. (1/16/11) – The Kean
University men's basketball team received a team-high 24
points from senior Andrew Kirey, but it
wasn't enough as they fell to host College of Staten Island,
75-54, Monday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Dolphins (12-4) jumped out to a quick 11-0 lead in the first
five minutes of action and would hold on to the lead for the
remainder of the contest. CSI held a 35-13 advantage at the
break and would lead by as many as 31 during the second-half.
Sophomore Michael Burton finished with 13
points, five rebounds and three steals in the game while teammate
Kyle Latorre recorded five points and six
rebounds.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they host
Rutgers-Newark at 3 p.m.
