Union, N.J. (10/20/12) - Junior Stephanie Soares scored the game's only two goals to help the Kean University field hockey team blank #13 Rowan University on Saturday afternoon.

Soares (pictured left) got the Cougars (8-9, 2-3 NJAC) on the board at 12:02 mark in the first half. She put the rebound of senior Kelly Bachovchin's shot past Profs goalie Jen Goldberg for her 11th goal of the season. Soares would add her second goal of the game at the 26:42 mark of the first half.

The Cougars defense stifled the Profs (12-5, 3-2 NJAC) for most of the game, holding the Profs to three shots on goal, and none in the second half.

Junior Erin Langan recorded two saves, while Goldberg had three in the losing effort for the Profs.

The Cougars return to action Wednesday, October 24th as they travel to #4 Montclair State University to take on the Red Hawks in NJAC action.
