Glassboro, N.J. (11/2/12) – Senior
Carly Seidel had a hand in both goals of the match
as the Kean University women's soccer team topped #2 Rowan
University, 2-1, Friday evening in the NJAC Tournament.
With the win, the #6 Cougars advance to the NJAC Championship match
on Sunday, November 4th against #1 Montclair State
University.
Kean (11-5-3) jumped on the board first late in the closing
minutes of the first half as Seidel launched a shot from 15 yards
out over the keepers head, giving Kean a 1-0 lead at the break.
Rowan (12-3-1) tied things up in the 70th minute, but
Kean responded quickly as Seidel crossed a ball from the right side
that found rookie Angie Lopez who deposited the
game-winner at 74:23.
Rookie KC Nunez (pictured left) tallied 12
saves as the Profs tallied 20 shots on the evening.
