Valley College used a strong first half to top the Kean University
men's basketball team, 94-57, Saturday afternoon in
non-conference action.
The game is the final matchup of 2012 for the Cougars (3-6).
Sophomore Nick Sullivan came off the bench and drained
all five of his 3-point attempts in the first half. He came
in just three minutes into the contest with the Aggies trailing
2-0. Seven minutes later, they were up 16 (26-10) as Sullivan
drained a jumper and four treys as part of a 26-8 run. The
Aggies eventually moved the advantage to 27, with a 48-21 lead at
the break.
Kean kept pace in the second half, but was not able to overcome
the deficit, 18 members of the squad saw action in the contest.
Rookie Tommy Soulias scored seven points to
lead Kean. Four players chipped in six points apiece, including
senior Mike Shaughnessy who also added four
rebounds and three assists.
