#3 TCNJ Tops Women's Lacrosse, 13-5

Ewing, N.J. (3/13/12) – The third ranked College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team made three key saves in the second half that thwarted a Kean University rally and carried the Lions to a 13-5 win in New Jersey Athletic Conference action.

The Cougars fall to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while the Lions improve to 5-0 and 2-0 in the NJAC.

TCNJ carried a 9-1 lead into the second half, but the Cougars responded with the first three goals of the half to make it a five-goal difference. Junior Lyndsey Cannon netted the first of the two with Ciara Mastrodomenico getting the third.

After TCNJ put one back on the board, the Cougars had their best opportunity of the night with two TCNJ players in the penalty area after receiving yellow cards. Kelsey Zinck made two key saves, to keep the advantage.

Cannon (pictured left) scored three goals for the Cougars, giving her 21 for the season.

Jules Keeley recorded 14 saves for the Cougars while Zinck finished with a season-high seven saves for the Lions.

Kean returns home to face St. Joseph's College-L.I. on Friday evening.
