UNION, N.J. (3/6/12) – Rookie
John Cunningham had 11 kills to lead the Kean
University men's volleyball team to a straight-set win (25-6,
25-9, 25-11) over Yeshiva University in Skyline Conference action
on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Cougars (15-4, 11-0 Skyline) remain undefeated in
conference action with the win over Yeshiva (6-13, 1-10
Skyline).
Collectively, the Cougars totaled 39 kills and just eight errors
in 65 attack attempts for a .477 hitting percentage. In the
opening set, Kean had a .688 hitting percentage with 11 kills and
no errors in 16 attempts.
Freshman Mike Scheuermann and senior
Christian Portera each had six kills, while
sophomore Arthur Kosakowski (pictured left) had
six kills, three service aces and two digs. Rookie
Kyle Farley finished with three kills, two service
aces and two assisted blocks. Freshmen Alex
Barnhard and Ron Dunn combined for 27
assists.
For the Maccabees, Adam Rhodes and Naftali
Rosenthal each had three assisted blocks, three digs and one
kill.
Kean resumes action on Saturday, March 10 when the Cougars
travels to Stevenson University for a tri-match with the host
Mustangs and Lancaster Bible College.
