FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (4/25/12) – Top-seeded Farmingdale State College posted a 21-5 win over #4 Kean University in the Skyline Conference semifinals on Wednesday afternoon.
For the Cougars (9-7), junior Lyndsey Cannon finished with one goal and two assists to tie the career assists record.
Farmingdale (13-1) scored the first 10 goals of the game and held a 13-2 lead at halftime, as the Rams held a commanding 25-3 shot advantage in the opening half.
In the second half, the Rams extended the lead to 17-2 with the first four goals of the half, before Kean netted three of the next four goals. Farmingdale closed out the win scoring the final three goals.
Attack Carly Schneider led the Rams with six goals and two assists.
Junior Stephanie Tocko and sophomore Ciara Mastrodomenico each had two goals for Kean. Rookie Hannah Jones made seven saves in goal in her first action of the season.
Cannon (pictured left) now has 64 career assists, tying the record held by Amanda South (2008-11).
The Cougars travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College next Wednesday, May 2, for a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
