Hoboken, N.J. (9/8/12) – New York University used an early goal in a tight matchup hold up, as they defeated the Kean University women's soccer team, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in the Ninth Annual Stevens Engineering Cup.

The Violets (2-1) win gives Kean their first loss of the season (3-1).

Rookie KC Nunez recorded nine saves in the loss as NYU held a 15-11 advantage in shots.  Kean edged NYU in corner opportunities, 7-6.
